What types of damage does FBTO’s liability insurance cover? If you have taken out liability insurance with FBTO, the insurance provides compensation for the damage that you, as a private individual, unintentionally caused to someone else or their belongings.   • You have caused damage to another person as a result of which this person is injured or disabled, becomes ill, or, in the worst case, dies;
  • You have accidentally damaged someone else’s property;
  • Your pet causes damage to someone else or their property;
  • You must incur costs for a lawsuit;
  • You must pay statutory interest on your damage;
  • You perform a favour to a friend, meaning you offer help with a move without consideration. If damage occurs, you are not legally obliged to compensate for this damage, but the person to whom you have caused this damage can still make a compensation claim.   • Damage caused as a result of the use of (fire)arms;
  • Damage to other people’s property that you manage (in the form of supervision);
  • Damage caused while carrying out work, you are insured for this through your employer;
